After the location and design of a project is determined, a project representative will provide written notice to you that all or a portion of your property will be purchased for the project. The project representative will then schedule a follow-up visit with you.
The fair market value is the price at which the property would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under any compulsion to buy or to sell and both having reasonable knowledge of relevant facts. The fair market value is the appraised value.
The process timeline may vary greatly based on the complexity of the acquisition. Uncomplicated acquisitions are typically completed in four to eight months. Acquisitions involving relocations will involve a longer time period.
