Higher Speeds 2012

Overview

From time to time, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will need to obtain real property (including, but not limited to, fee simple, construction easements, and permanent easements) for high-speed rail improvements. All real property acquisitions will be conducted in accordance with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition for Federal and Federally-Assisted Programs Act (49 CFR Part 24).

IDOT has established policies and procedures for the acquisition of real property to ensure that both private and State rights are protected. These policies and procedures require a high standard of integrity and professionalism by IDOT and its agents in the acquisition process. The IDOT Highway and Railroad Improvements & Property Rights brochure can be accessed here.
