Record of Decision

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) issued a Record of Decision (ROD) for the Springfield Rail Improvements Project on December 18, 2012. The ROD identifies Alternative 2A, the 10th Street Corridor, as the selected option, which would consolidate and improve rail lines in the City of Springfield, Illinois.

This ROD is for the Springfield Rail Improvements Project and makes decisions about site-specific rail improvement alternatives in the City of Springfield, Illinois only and does not pertain to a decision for the Chicago to St. Louis High-Speed Rail Program.

The completion of the ROD is necessary to apply for additional federal funding for potential improvements.
